My Projects

DCIM Capstone Project

For my DCIM Capstone project, I create a webpage with a series of videos explaining how to create an effective and engaging tutorial. As I explained in the project, the best kind of tutorial is the kind that the let's the player play the game and figure out what to do by themselves.

HCI Project

For my Human-Computer Interaction class, I had to come up with an idea for an app and explain how it would work. My app idea was called "Shut Eye" and would help people get a better sleep schedule. The purpose of the project was to show my abilities to come up with an idea for an app that could solve a real world issue and create the sketches, wireframes, high fidelity prototypes demonstrating the potential app's purpose.

Social Impacts of Video Gaming Project

For my Social Impacts of Video Gaming class, I created an online portfolio going over each of the projects I made for the class. Each of these projects were fun but also caused me to think about social ideas within the gaming community. I explain these thoughts well in the reflection portions of the portfolio.

Game Design Prototype #1

For my first original prototype in my Game Design course, I created a simple, but fun 2D platform game. The player controls a sphere and must ride on moving platforms and avoid obstacles until they reach the goal at the end. The game was built in the Unity engine and required some C# coding.

Game Design Prototype #2

For my second prototype, I had to use a mix of pre-existing assets and my own abilities to craft a terrain in order to build a walking simulator project.

Social Informatics Paper

For my Social Informatics class, I had to write a paper about a piece of information communication technology (ICT) of my choice. I chose to write about the then-newly released console, the Nintendo Switch. This five page paper details the device's design, new features, major supporters, and even criticisms.

2D Animation Final

For my 2D Animation final project, I had to create my own animated short film. The animation had to be at least 1 minute in length and made using any of the various techniques and skills we learned from this class. I chose to create a lighthearted, comedic short for my project.

3D Animation Final

For my 3D Animation final project, I had to create a 3D animated short film. I created an animation using many of the skills I learned in the class. I chose to use more visual storytelling by limiting the dialogue and putting the focus on characters that don't speak.
